Easy to maintain, the TW 280HB HYBRID wood chipper is ideal for companies who are committed to minimising their emissions and fuel usage without compromising on performance.

We use a courier service to deliver larger items, which normally requires a signature. If you are likely to be out when our delivery is due, you may enter delivery instructions (e.g. ‘Please leave order in porch’) in the order notes as you check out. However, if you do ask for goods to be left on your property while you are out, the courier will be unable to get a signature, so this is at your own risk.

The TW 280HB HYBRID’s mild hybrid powertrain meets the dual challenge of exceptional 62hp peak chipping performance whilst using a 24.8hp Kubota Super Mini Series engine for outstanding applied torque.
Professional wood chippers need to be fundamentally fit for purpose. As no commercially-viable sustainable solution was available, Timberwolf decided to lead their own hybrid powertrain development programme.
When idling, the D902-TE4 turbo diesel engine directs energy into the Inmotion Generator Synchronous Motor (GSM) and drives energy recovery to the rotor (maintaining target RPM). During this period with no chipping load, the SECH supercapacitors are charged by the GSM as instructed by the Chipper Control Unit (CCU).
When chipping starts, the rotor RPM naturally drops. If this RPM drops to a pre-determined set-point, the CCU will prompt the demand for additional energy. This is supplied according to the load mode automatically detected by the CCU based on the rate of decay.
This additional energy, stored in the SECH supercapacitors, is directed back into the GSM where it now acts to provide additional recovery energy to the rotor. The result is enhanced efficiency and chipping capability for the user when they need it most.
Self-charging system: no external charging required. No diesel particulate filter (DPF) or AdBlue required. Less fuel-quality sensitivity.
