The Ocean Polyester Friction Hitch Cord is a high-performance cord developed for demanding applications in both sailing and tree care. Originally, its mantle was engineered to handle extreme point loading on racing yacht winches. As a result, it delivers excellent heat resistance and grip—two essential qualities for reliable friction hitch performance.

The outer sheath combines aramid and polyester fibres. Therefore, it provides the durability and heat tolerance needed for consistent performance under load. In addition, this combination improves grip, allowing the cord to engage smoothly and securely when used in friction hitches.

The core plays a key role in overall strength. For tree care applications, treemagineers selected a polyester kern to enhance abrasion resistance and flexibility. Because of this, the cord withstands repeated bending and performs reliably even in wet conditions. Furthermore, the high wet strength ensures dependable use in all weather environments.

Both versions come pre-terminated with stitched eyes at each end. As a result, you can use the cord immediately without additional preparation. This setup makes it ideal for tying popular friction hitches such as the Valdotain Tresse and Distel.

The 8 mm version measures 76 cm in length, offering a compact and responsive setup. Meanwhile, the 10 mm version measures 90 cm, providing slightly more length for different configurations and preferences.
