The Treehog Cut Away Strop is a critical safety component for aerial rescue and climbing systems. Specifically, it is designed as a cut-away link, providing a “soft point” where a system can be quickly released if a climber becomes stuck. Moreover, it is particularly useful when working with wire-cored flip lines or similar climbing setups.
The strop is made from 20mm polyester webbing with factory-sewn loops, ensuring both strength and durability. As a result, it can withstand heavy loads while remaining flexible and easy to handle. Furthermore, the sewn loop construction allows for quick attachment to climbing systems, making it a dependable point of release during emergencies.
A cut-away strop is a necessary part of a climbing system for any scenario where rapid release may be required. For example, if a climber becomes trapped or entangled in a tree, the strop serves as the designated point to cut the system safely, allowing immediate release without compromising the rest of the setup. Therefore, it adds an important layer of safety for both the climber and the rescue team.
The Treehog Cut Away Strop conforms to EN354 and EN566 standards. Additionally, it has a 22 kN static strength rating, ensuring that it meets stringent safety requirements for professional use. Consequently, climbers can rely on it to perform consistently under emergency conditions.
The Treehog Cut Away Strop – TH1160-020 is an indispensable safety tool for professional arborists, climbers, and rescue teams. Moreover, its strong, flexible construction, combined with EN certification and high load rating, ensures that it provides a reliable and quick-release point in critical situations. Therefore, including a cut-away strop in your climbing system enhances safety and confidence when working at height.
