In addition, the wire gate design further reduces weight. It also prevents freezing in cold conditions. Therefore, the Spectre 2 performs reliably in winter and alpine environments where solid gates may fail.
The Spectre 2 features a shrouded nose. This design reduces snagging when clipping or unclipping ropes, slings, and protection. As a result, you can move faster and more efficiently on the wall or in the mountains.
Moreover, the carabiner includes generous rope radii. These allow smoother rope running and help reduce rope wear. In the event of a fall, they also contribute to softer catches by minimising friction.
Although wiregate carabiners require a notch for strength, DMM keeps it as small as possible. Therefore, it maintains full strength while reducing the chance of snagging on gear.
