In addition, the double-channel tube design keeps the bungee protected inside the unit. The cord runs from the top of the Velox down through the channel to the base. There, it wraps around a precision sheave with stainless steel sealed bearings housed in a machined aluminium block. After that, the bungee travels back up a second channel and attaches to the snap. Therefore, the system reduces friction and delivers a smooth, responsive return during each climbing movement.
The snap positioned just above the ascender allows the bungee to extend up to 30″ instantly. Because of this design, the Velox requires no setup before climbing. Furthermore, multiple users can operate the system without making adjustments.
Maintenance is also simple and practical. If needed, climbers can replace the bungee in under five minutes, and importantly, the process requires no tools.
